Morgantown, WV
WVU Medicine opened its doors to a state-of-the-art Recovery Treatment Center. Glenmark is the managing member of the developing entity. The facility includes 30 residential treatment beds, 12 detox beds, and intensive residential care engulfed into a 28-day program. The rehabilitation center is the first of its kind in the state of West Virginia and will strive to treat patients suffering from all forms of substance abuse.
As the private developer, Recovery Properties acquired 13.43 +/- acres of land strategically located in a convenient and serene setting near the Mylan Park community and recreation complex. Recovery Properties is responsible for financing and constructing the improvements. Via Management Agreement, WVU Medicine manages and operates the comprehensive treatment center targeting all addicting substances, with a full staff of approximately 37 individuals. Given the population in WV, alcohol and opioids will be of most acute concern, however tobacco, amphetamines, cannabinoids, and other substances will most certainly be tackled. As the state’s flagship academic medical center, WVU Medicine’s mission of the center is to help West Virginians and others from surrounding states who need access to a first-class program that offers recovery from addiction.
Under the long-term management agreement, both WVU Medicine and RTC share in the net revenues of the project. Paradigm Architecture, Inc. was the architect and March-Westin Company, Inc., was the construction manager and a prime contractor.
