West Virginia General Contractor (since 1995)
Michael Saab began his career with Glenmark as Director of Property Management in 1986. At the time, Glenmark was a nursing home facility owner and operator. Within nine years, Glenmark grew to become the largest nursing home and related ancillary service company in West Virginia. During that period, Mike was directly responsible for maintaining the daily property operations with regard to safety, various skill and acuity levels, and purpose of each nursing home facility, as well as working with all state compliance agencies and different nursing home accreditations. Mike’s role grew and evolved as Glenmark sold its healthcare holdings and forged ahead with its commercial real estate construction and development arms. Mr. Saab’s duties now find him as Director of Construction for new projects and Director of Property Management for approximately 1 million SF of owned/leased property. Through his hands-on experience, Mike is able to assess situations and react accordingly to any type of construction matter and any client’s issue. Mike’s dedication and know-how often finds him personally responding to any crisis that pops up night, day, or weekend.
As Director of Construction, Mike is in charge of taking projects from inception to fruition. His estimating, budgeting, and bid negotiating skills have been instrumental in ensuring the success of projects. Additionally, he assists in developing a project’s scope of work and ensures contractors adherence thereto and to the architectural plans and specifications. Mike hand picks and maintains positive working relationships with contractors to uphold Glenmark’s high standard of excellence at an affordable price. His diligence nearly guarantees each project’s completion on time and on budget.
Since 2003, he has overseen and directed, on behalf of Glenmark, in excess of $200 million dollars and 900,000 square feet of new construction and tens of millions of dollars in renovations, expansions, and improvements of existing properties. With 30 years of experience, Mr. Saab has seen just about everything in the construction industry. Mike’s diversity of construction knowledge spans across all property types, from Class A high-rise office structures to pole-built warehouse and industrial units, from block and mortar buildings to a mega-store retail power center, from rehabilitation and transformation of abandoned warehouses to high quality offices and restaurants, from brand new franchise hotels to flex space business parks, and from a 1,310-bed mixed-use student housing project for West Virginia University to highly technical data centers for the FBI and WVU Medicine.
It is a direct result of this multi-faceted experience that Mr. Saab is able to recognize and realize the full potential of each Glenmark property on time and on budget. Mike is directly responsible for oversight of all field operations, construction projects, budget development, construction schedules, contract negotiations, and management of project teams. Mike is native to Morgantown and is married to wife Tammy; they have two adult sons.
